Nelson "Bill" W. Bartley, age 89, of Friendship, Wisconsin died Friday, September 14, 2007 at the Villa Pines Living Center in Friendship, Wisconsin.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at the Arkdale Trinity Lutheran Church in Arkdale, Wisconsin. Pastor Terri Skildum will officiate. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Cremation will follow the traditional service with final interment will be at the Mt. Repose Cemetery, Friendship, Wisconsin.
Bill was born May 29, 1918 in Adams, Wisconsin to Nelson R. and Minnie I. (Montgomery) Bartley. He graduated from Adams-Friendship High School in 1936. Bill married Rose Schneider in January of 1940. Rose died in October of 1940. He moved to Chicago, IL., working as a welder where he met and married Joyce Kroll in 1942. The couple moved to Adams, WI where he worked for the CNW railroad for 32 years, retiring in 1975. Joyce passed away in 1962. Bill married Clara L. Wilda on May 22, 1965 she passed away in 1999.
Bill was an avid outdoorsman; he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trapping.
Bill was a member of Masonic Lodge 332 for 50 years, the Arkdale Trinity Lutheran Church, a life member of the National Trappers Association, served as Vice-President and was a life member of the Wisconsin Trappers Association, the National Rifle Association and Ducks Unlimited.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Thelma; two brothers; and three wives; an infant daughter, Cheryl.

Step-Son: Thomas (Jan) Wilda of Red Wing, MN
Brother: Ronald (Delores) Bartley of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin
Grandchildren: 8
Great-Grandchildren: 10
