Orville Robert York

Orville Robert York, age 63, of Friendship, Wisconsin died Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at his home following a battle with lung cancer.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at the Roseberry’s Funeral Home in Friendship, Wisconsin. Rev. John K. Stake will officiate. Interment will be at the Quincy Cemetery, Town of Quincy, Adams County, Wisconsin. Military honors will be presented at the cemetery.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. until time of service on Saturday at Roseberry’s Funeral Home.

Orville was born July 8, 1947 in Adams, Wisconsin to Ernest A. and Ruth Avis (Reichhoff) Komatz. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the Army from 1968 to 1975. Orville worked as a welder before becoming a shift supervisor at a die casting company. He later drove for a medical transportation company.

Orville married Lillian Irene Stone on July 13, 1992 in Adams, Wisconsin.

Orville enjoyed boating, camping, fishing, and spending time with his grandsons.

Orville was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Avis Komatz; and his brother, Bruce Komatz.

Daughter: Melissa (Jon) Muehlenkamp of Camp Douglas, Wisconsin
Grandsons: Gage, Ethan, John of Camp Douglas, Wisconsin
Further survived by great-nieces, one great-nephew, other relatives, and friends.
