Patrick Janecek

Patrick Donald Janecek of Friendship, Wisconsin passed away Monday, May 30, 2011 at the VA Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin.

Funeral services were held 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 3rd, 2011 at Roseberrys Funeral Home in Friendship, WI. Father James P. McNamee officiated. Military honors were given by the Adams County Honor Guard.

Interment will be at the St. Johns Cemetery, Omaha, Nebraska.

Patrick was born April 4, 1935. He married Bernice Kros on June 9, 1963. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the Navy. He worked as a welder at P&H Manufacturing for 43 years in Milwaukee before retiring to Friendship, Wisconsin area in 1998.

Patrick enjoyed hunting and fishing, telling stories, and visiting with his friends.

Patrick was a past member of Grand Marsh Snider Richard Post #273, and was a member of Adams American Legion Red Cloud Post #250, serving as the assistant chaplain for the Post, and was on the honor guard.

Patrick was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Blanche (Brush) Janecek; father and mother-in-law, Frank and Ana (Kozol) Kros; and half-brother, Don Jessop.
Survived by his wife, Bernice Janecek; sister, Mary Ann (Donald) Strack; nephew, Bill (Angie) Strack and their daughter, Summer; also survived by his half-sister: Pat (Dennis) Green; half-brothers: Jerry (Jeanette) Jessop, Tom (Jodie) Jessop; brothers-in-law: Frank Kros Jr., Tom (Kathy) Kros, and Mike (Pauletta) Kros; sisters-in-law: Dorothy (Louis) Halamek and Eleanor Frady; further survived by many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

    I work at the VA in Tomah and Pat was always so good humored and didnt get upset about anything. He did like to talk and it saddens me to know he will no longer be visiting here. God Bless.
