Raymond A. LeGault , Age 81, of Big Flats, Wisconsin left us unexpectedly on October 20th, 2010 at the Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 3rd, 2010 at the St. Josephs Catholic Church in Friendship, Wisconsin. Father James McNamee will officiate. Military Honors will be presented by the Adams County Honor Guard.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-7p.m. at Roseberrys Funeral Home and friends may call at the church on Wednesday, November 3rd from 12:00 p.m. until the time of Mass at the church. Cremation will follow the traditional services with final interment at the St. Leos Catholic Cemetery, Friendship, Wisconsin.
Raymond was born on July 18th, 1929 in Gladstone, Michigan to Wallace and Ruth LeGault. He joined the United States Navy and served from August 7th , 1946 to April 21st, 1950 He served on many vessels including Nattc, Memphis, TN., USS Bairoko, Fighter Ron, CDR AIR GRP 13, Va-135 and Composite Squadron 61. He also earned a China Service Medal. He served in WWII with highest rank of AN, and an Honorable Discharge. He married Frances Rallo on October 06, 1951 in Racine, Wisconsin.
He worked as a Sheet Metal Fabricator at Young Radiator in Racine, Wisconsin for 38 Years. After retirement, they moved to Big Flats where they had many friends.
Ray enjoyed fishing with his good friends Mark and Wayne. If the sun was out and the winds were low, they were fishing. Ray enjoyed welding and building during his retirement. He was very close to his neighbors Bob and Jackie, enjoying many stories and good times together.
Ray enjoyed hunting and fishing. He even enjoyed cooking. He liked to make things from scratch and swap recipes.
He also took up sewing and baking. Ray enjoyed to visit and reminisce with family and many, many friends over the years that they lived in Big Flats. He loved to go on fishing trips to Canada, Michigan and Minnesota .
Raymond was preceded in death by his Wife Frances LeGault, Parents Wallace And Ruth LeGault, his oldest son, Wally LeGault; brother, Bob LeGault; brother-in-law, Bob Stachlewitz; brother-in-law, Andy Hughes; brother-in-law, Charles Rallo; sister-in-law, Vi Rallo; brother-in-law, Joseph Rallo; sister-in-law, Sarah Rallo and sister-in-law, Marian Rallo.
He is survived by daughter, Nancy (Delmer) Listrom of MN; daughter, Mary LeGault of WI; son. John ( Corinna) LeGault of WI; daughter, Patricia Reck Of VA; granddaughters: Angela and Cathy Legault of WI, Christina and Sarah Listrom of MN; great-granddaughter Alyssa Yeates of MN; brothers: Westley (Dell) LeGault of TN & Norman (Marie) LeGault of MI; sisters: Audrey Stachlewitz of MI and Muriel Hughes of MI; daughter-in-law, Laurie LeGault of IL.; brother-in-law, Frank (Marion) Rallo of WI, & brother-in-law, John Rallo of WI. Also many, many nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors.
We are praying for your family through this difficult time. He was a wonderful man and will be missed by so many!
