Rebecca Rosalie Werner

Rebecca Becky Rosalie Werner, age 76, of Wisconsin Dells, passed away on December 6, 2011.

Funeral services will be 12:30 p.m. on Friday, December 9, 2011 at the Roseberry’s Funeral Home in Friendship,Wisconsin. Rev. John Krebs will officiate. Interment will be at the Plainfield Cemetery, Plainfield, Wisconsin.

Visitation will be 10:30 a.m. until the time of service on Friday at Roseberry’s Funeral Home.

Rebecca was born October 22, 1935 in Plainfield, Wisconsin the daughter of Clifford and Effie (Nigh) Banks. She grew up in the Plainfield area and graduated from Plainfield High School in 1953.

Becky married Jack D. Werner on October 1, 1955 in Adams, Wisconsin. In 1956 her husband Jack entered the United States Army serving in the United States and in Germany for approximately two years and this is where their oldest son was born. After returning from Military service they lived in Grand Marsh, Adams and Wisconsin Dells. During this time their second son was born while living in Adams. Becky worked for Red Owl, IGA and the Adams Movie Theater in Adams. She also worked at Treasure Island and Chula Vista Resorts in Wisconsin Dells. Upon retiring she enjoyed traveling.

She enjoyed old time music with her parents and brother who were known as the Sunset Ramblers. As the years went on her brother formed the Uncle Ozzie Orchestra where she sang and played guitar. She loved singing, dancing and Polka music.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford & Effie Banks and numerous Aunts & Uncles

Great Granddaughter: Lillyon Werner of Springfield, Illinois

Brother: Clifford Ronald (Shirley) Banks II of Portage, Wisconsin

    Jack and family, So many years have passed since those dances at the Grand Marsh Community Hall. No one enjoyed dancing to the Sun Set Ramblers more than the Merton Morgan family. We went every time they played. Rosie was such a lovely person and always had a smile and a kind word no matter when you met her. She will be missed by all who knew her.
