Richard J. Conger

Richard J. Conger, age 81, of Friendship, Wisconsin passed away Monday, July 17,  2023 at Rosebrooke Senior Living in Adams, Wisconsin.

Private family services are planned for a later date.

Richard was born August 24, 1941 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to John “Jack” and  Julia (Goller) Conger. He was a 1960 graduate of Waukesha High School. He was  married to Karen (Paul) Conger from September 29, 1962 until her death on July  3, 1986. Richard was self-employed in the HVAC industry and spent the majority of his adult years in the Waukesha, Wisconsin area. He met Mary Soderberg in  July 1996 and both were able to retire in 1997. They married February 18, 2000  and later moved to Friendship, Wisconsin in June of that same year.

Richard loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren,  keeping his yard immaculate and riding around on his John Deere lawn mower. He  probably put more miles on that than any car he ever owned. He was a huge  Nascar and Green Bay Packers fan and loved watching both, in person and on TV.  Richard also enjoyed going to the casinos, but only when he “had fun” (would  win)!

Richard was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Julia Conger and his first  wife Karen.

He is survived by his loving wife Mary, his children Scott Conger, Dawn Conger  (Tom Knott), Kari Hicken, Kelly (Andy) Bourdo and Kim (Dave Weber), his  grandchildren Jessica Conger, Michael Demont, Jacob Rueden, Katie (Jim) Taylor,  Cody Hicken, Christian Hicken, Amanda (Nikki) Powell, Carson Weber and Sarah  (Alex) Gonzalez and his great-grandchildren Michael, Sienna, Mason, Savannah,  Caydence, Altin and Asher. Richard is further survived by many other family  members and friends.

My sincere condolences to the family of this kind man that I had the pleasure of getting to know. In such a short time he reminded me of why I love what I do. He always put a smile on my face. I was grateful and honored to be one of his caregivers at Rosebrooke Senior living. Rest easy buddy
