Rick later enlisted in the United States Army and then joined the Wisconsin National Guard when he finished his enlistment. He served a total of 24 years before being honorably discharged on January 6th of 2003.

In his spare time Rick loved to go camping & traveling throughout the U.S. with Lillie. He enjoyed watching car racing & demos, and of course Pepsi. Rick also loved going to the property him and Lillie had up north and riding four-wheelers.
Richard was preceded in death by his father, Eugene S. Bisher, grandparents, and sister-in-law Lila.
