Bob Ebert
Memorial services will be 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at the Roseberry’s Funeral Home in Friendship, Wisconsin. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at Roseberry’s Funeral Home.
Interment will be at the Mt. Repose Cemetery, Friendship, Wisconsin at a later date.
Bob was born February 19, 1931 in Preston Township, Adams County, Wisconsin to August Herman and Flossie Rebecca (McLaughlin) Ebert. He graduated from Adams-Friendship High School in 1948. He married Roberta Roseberry on June 22, 1957 at the Friendship Congregational Church. Bob cut pulp for the Castle Rock and Petenwell Lake projects, worked at Badger Ordnance, and with Charlie Tuttle and Burt Morris in real estate. He then worked for the Adams County Sheriff’s Department for 21 years, retiring in 1995.
Bob enjoyed playing and coaching baseball, he pitched for the Melody Waves baseball team; hunting, gardening, and an avid sports enthusiast.
Memorials may be directed in Bob’s memory to the Adams-Friendship Education Foundation or the Adams County Historical Society.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, August and Flossie Ebert; and brother, Don Ebert.

So sorry to hear of the loss of your Dad, Loren. He gave many years to Adams County and kept everyone safe. I’m sure he was a role model for those following, in a service that doesn’t always get the credit it deserves. Our sympathy to all.

Loss of a loved one is always tough. Please know that Bob was a pleasure to work with and he touched so many. He was kind and had a great sense of humor. I will cherish many fond memories that make me smile. He will be sadly missed by many.

We have lost a great man but now he is in a much better place where we shall all meet again. Bob trained Ronnie when he was with the Sheriff’s Department and Bob also allowed Ronnie to hunt on his land and that is where Ronnie shot his first turkey. He always had a smile for everyone. Remember all the good times because there was a ton of them. RIP Bob until we all meet again.

Roberta and family: Sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. Had the pleasure of visiting with Bob on a few occasions with my Dad at the Corner Bar prior to Dad’s passing. He was a joy to visit with and such a remarkable memory. It was just fun to sit back and listen to him and my Dad reminisce of days past. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
My condolences to you Roberta and to Bob’s family When I was young our family hunted with the Eberts. I remember Bob when he pitched for A-F with Charlie Tuttle , Burt Morris and others. He was a great lefty and when he pitched A-F usually won. Bob was a good guy and I’m sure you will miss him.

Prayers to the family in this time of sorrow. Bob was a good man who helped me through some tuff times as a young man. I will never forget the day he found me in a hammock I made out of my sheet tied to the ceiling so I could see to read my book. He let me stay in it till the end of his shift.
Roberta and family, So sorry to hear about Bob, You have my prayers and Sympathy, When we worked at Badger Ordinance and he Vera Henningson ,Tillie Doyle and Earl Buck all road together and if the others were sleeping he always kept the conversation going so I wouldn’t get so tired, He will truly be missed, too bad there werent’ more like him around today, gone Some of his Officers that are gone ahead will be glad to welcome him into heaven. Remember the good times it will get easier but it will take awhile.

Bob was my first baseball coach and taught me not only the game, but the love of the game. He also taught all of us playing for the Cubs in Little League little lessons about life we carried with us as men.
When I was 10 years old I was playing right field and I made an error on fly ball late in a game. I thought I had caused the team to lose. The Cubs were used to winning. They had won championships before, and while I played with them. I remember feeling pretty down about it. It was my first year on the team. I assumed Coach Ebert would pull me out of the game, but he didn’t. He gave me a little pat on the back. We rallied to take the lead, and with one 2 outs and the opposing team having the winning runs on base the batter hit another fly ball to right field. This one I caught and my teammates came out to celebrate the win. That little lesson in perseverance, compassion, picking yourself up after a mistake, and in second chances has stuck with me all these years.
I am sad to hear Coach Ebert has passed. However, I am very grateful I had a chance to play for him.
