Bob Luetkens

Robert L. Luetkens, age 92, of LaValle, WI, passed away Peacefully Tuesday afternoon June 6, 2023.

He was born in Reedsburg on July 23, 1930 to Leonard & Marie (Craker) Luetkens of Loganville. Bob married Kola (Osborne) Luetkens on March 8, 1980 in Reedsburg. Immediately out of High School Bob joined the Navy and served on the USS Worchester during the Korean Conflict. After a successful career as a service manager for the local Ford dealer Bob transitioned to his true passion of working with and on boats both locally and for many years traveling with Kola to their second home in central Florida. Bob also enjoyed mentoring young mechanics during his later working years, both in Wisconsin and Florida.  This annual migration allowed Bob to be active with both his family in Wisconsin and his children in
Florida.

As an avid Motorcyclist Bob traveled over 100,000 miles traveling all 48 contiguous states, Alaska (yes on a motorcycle) and both eastern and western Canada. As a lifetime member of the VFW he also enjoyed traveling to reunions with military buddies and being a member of the local VFW. Everyone knew when he was helping with the Sunday morning breakfasts and turned out to support the Post.

In recent years Bob gained some infamy for being a hoarder of old things which paid off for Local Boy Scouts who gained his 70-year-old childhood uniform, young mechanics who gained a variety of well-loved and well-made tools for their budding collections and a mortar shell to his VFW Post.

Bob is survived by his wife Kola, 4 children Vicki (Mike) Amberg of Lime Ridge, WI, Terri Dawson of Saint Petersburg, FL, Bob (Debbie) Luetkens of Homosassa, FL, Mitzi (Paul) Shuman of Saint Petersburg, FL. His sister Bonnie (Don) Holby. Kola’s 3 children Tom (Michelle) Dorow of Lyndon Station, Shellie (Tony) Lieggi of Columbus, WI and Doug (Maria) Dorow of Hillsboro WI. 9 Grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Bob chose to be cremated soon after death and his ashes will make their way to his chosen final resting place at a later date.
