Sanford A. Simonson

Sanford A. Sam Simonson, age 88, of Friendship, Wisconsin died February 16, 2010 at the Villa Pines Living Center in Friendship, Wisconsin.

Funeral services will be 7:00p.m. on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at Roseberry’s Funeral Home in Friendship, Wisconsin. Pastor Karyn Bodenschatz will officiate. Visitation will be 4-7p.m. on Thursday at Roseberry’s Funeral Home.

Interment will be at the Oak Hill Cemetery, Janesville, Wisconsin on Friday February 19, 2010 at 11:00 a.m.

Sanford was born July 15, 1921 in Lynxville, Wisconsin to Sigvart Simonson and Elsie Anderson. He married Mazie Simonson on April 19, 1947 in Elkhorn, Wisconsin. Through this marriage he became the Stepfather of Donald and Gerald. This marriage was then blessed with two daughters and one son.

Sam was a very skilled carpenter and built many homes throughout Adams County. He enjoyed telling stories about growing up in Crawford County and the adventures he shared with his brothers and sisters.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mazie Simonson; Parents, Sigvart & Elsie Simonson;

Daughters: Susan and Deborah; Brothers: Alfred, George, Marvin, and Elmer; Sisters: Alma, Pauline, Selma, and Florence

Son: Donald (Mary) Simonson of Adams, Wisconsin
Son: Gerald Simonson of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin
Son: Steven Simonson of Janesville, Wisconsin
Many Grandchildren & Great Grandchildren

    Sam was a wonderful man. I took care of him at villa pines. I also took care of his wife at the hospital in town. He will be missed.
