Sharon Rose Whiteside (Higgins) lost her courageous battle with cancer on the morning of March 3rd, 2019 in Marshfield, Wisconsin. She was 66 years old.
Sharon was born on January 29th, 1953 in Wisconsin Rapids, WI to her parents, Maurice and Joyce Higgins. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1971 and married Kenneth E. Whiteside in August of 1976. The Whiteside’s lived in the Rapids area for the majority of the next 43 years, with intermittent stops in Peru, IN. She retired in 2017 and dedicated her remaining time to attending her grandchildren’s many soccer and softball games, as well as band and choir concerts.
Sharon was a devoted baseball fan, who never missed a chance to see her children, grandchildren, or the Brewers play. She was a lover of cats and an avid reader.
Sharon is survived by her mother Joyce, husband Ken, son Michael (Yuki), daughter Tawnya (Jesse) Brockman, two grandchildren Annalee and Jade Brockman as well as her sister Linda (Dave) Schmidt and many nieces and nephews.
According to her wishes, a small private memorial service will take place on Wednesday, March 6th at 10:00 a.m. at the Community Church in Wisconsin Rapids (640 Baker St.). In lieu of flowers, please donate to the McMillan Library in Wisconsin Rapids. The family wishes to send specials thanks to Doctor Ali W Bseiso, the Palliative Care department of the Marshfield Clinic, and Pastor Milt Van Natta for their tireless and devoted care during her last days.
