Susan Anna Troemner, age 93, of Friendship, Wisconsin passed away Tuesday, August 08, 2023 at Crest View in New Lisbon, Wisconsin.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Friendship, Wisconsin. Bishop Seth Rice will officiate. Interment will be at the Quincy Cemetery, Town of Quincy, Wisconsin. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Born on July 29, 1930, in Clark County, Wisconsin, Susan was the cherished daughter of John Adam and Nettie Theresa (Heath) Moeller. She was a woman of great intellect and dedication to education. Her academic journey included graduating from Clark County Rural Schools, Granton High School in 1948, Wood County Normal School in 1949, and the University of Wisconsin Whitewater in 1950. She shared her passion for learning as a teacher in a Rural Schools in Iowa.

On August 20, 1949, Susan married her beloved husband, James Oliver Troemner, at her childhood home in Sherwood Township, Clark County, Wisconsin. Together, they embarked on a journey that took them from Davenport and Dubuque, Iowa to Cedar Falls before finally settling in Friendship, Wisconsin in 1983.

Susan was an individual of many passions. She found solace and joy in music, dedicated time to genealogical pursuits, and had a deep fondness for teaching and nurturing children. A dedicated member of the Adams County Historical Society, she was committed to preserving the history of her community.

In honor of Susan’s memory, the family kindly requests that any memorials be directed to the Adams County Historical Society, a cause that was close to her heart.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents, John and Nettie; her beloved husband, James Troemner (2012); and her daughter, Freda Joy Troemner (1968).

Survivors include her children: Mark (Suzanne) Troemner of Friendship, WI; Gary (Terumi) Troemner of Okinawa, Japan; Paul (Cynthia) Troemner of Indianapolis, IN; Carl (Joan) Troemner of Centennial, CO; and Colleen (Howard) Fisher of Centerville, UT. Susan is further survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives, and many good friends.

I didn’t see her much in the last few years but enjoyed working with her at the Historical Society for many years. She will be missed by all who knew her.
