Thomas George Reid

Thomas Reid

Thomas George Reid passed away peacefully on March 19, 2025, after a multi-year battle with COPD. He was born on June 23, 1949, in Menomonie, Wisconsin, to Calvin and Serene (Murphy) Reid. His family resided in Baldwin, Wisconsin, where Tom attended and graduated from Baldwin-Woodville High School. He was a multi-sport athlete. Tom later went on to attend UW-La Crosse and Madison Area Technical College. He enjoyed a 33-year career working in an information technology role for the State of Wisconsin in Madison.

Tom relocated to Cave Creek, Arizona, where he developed an interest in desert landscaping. He worked for several years designing and installing outdoor spaces for homeowners in the area. Tom later returned to Wisconsin and resumed his work in information technology with the State of Wisconsin until his retirement. Horses were always a big part of Tom’s life. He loved trail riding and sharing his knowledge with others.

Tom stayed active through the years by pheasant hunting, hiking, riding bicycles, riding motorcycles (you could always bet there was something fast in the garage), and maintaining the farm he and his wife, Janeen, owned. Tom enjoyed adding to his life experiences through many aspects of agriculture and the cattle industry. He was an avid reader who always had a new book on the counter or his nightstand.

Tom and his wife, Janeen, are members of Door Creek Church. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Serene, and his parents-in-law, Russell and Grace Huber. He is survived by his wife, Janeen; sisters, Melinda (Pat) Mahoney, Jody (Jerry) Wolski, and Mary Reid; brother, Patrick Reid; stepsons, Garrett (Kelli) Graber and Brock (Holly) Graber; step-grandchildren, Elsa, Ben, Ripp, and Miles Graber; many nephews and nieces, including Tom (Debbie) Mahoney and Reid Nachreiner; along with several other relatives and friends.

Extra special thanks to Agrace Hospice, Sun Prairie Senior Living’s skilled nursing staff, Pastor Jordan Miller, and everyone who helped in so many ways.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, April 13, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Leeds Town Hall, N1485 Pribbenow Dr. (Hwy. 60), Arlington, WI.

Any donation in memory of Tom may be designated to Three Gaits Therapeutic Horsemanship, Stoughton, WI.
