Thomas M. Wedin Sr., age 63, of Hancock, Wisconsin passed away unexpectedly on April 7, 2013 at his home.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 14th, 2013 at the Colonial Funeral Home in McHenry, Illinois.
Thomas was born January 12, 1950 in Chicago, Illinois to Arthur R. and Louise A. (Wilkens) Wedin.
He attended school in Chicago, Illinois and went to McHenry County College. Thomas enlisted in the United States Army in 1968 and served most of his time in Germany. He was honorably discharged in 1970.
In 1985 he was awarded by the City of Mt. Prospect, Illinois for saving a police officer’s life.
Prior to marriage, Thomas and Mari L. Tapaninen were together for seven years before their marriage on May 2, 1992 in Elkhorn, Wisconsin.
Tom retired from Motorola in Libertyville, Illinois as a warehouse manager and moved to Adams County in May of 2010.
He enjoyed driving the backroads state to state and AMT Slot-Car Racing. He was looking forward to riding his Harley with his sons and friends. Tom was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and son who took care of everybody. He loved spending time at his new home in Hancock with his family.

Very sorry to hear that Tom has passed away, he was a very nice guy!! I always enjoyed talking with him and his wife! Our prayers are will his family! May the Lord give you comfort.
