I just came from Aunt Verna’s funeral. I had forgotten about this site until Vickie mentioned it. (Sorry!) My deepest sympathy to everyone who loved her. Children, grandchildren, brother, sisters, cousins, inlaws, friends, acquaintances, and anyone I might have missed. I am glad I was close enough to be here for Dad and Mom. I know they have lots of fond memories. I remember playing with Randy and Ronnie and stepping in cow manure and Randy laughing so darn hard. I was (barefoot). I also remember Aunt Verna’s cake with broiled coconut frosting. Sooo good. She always remembered my birthday and I will miss her.
Nice to see my Aunts, Uncles and cousins even though it was a sad time. Love to you all, With sincere sympathy, Julie

I’m very sorry for the loss everyone’s feeling right now. One of the best things now is to focus on all the awesome times everyone had with Aunt Verna, and to be proud of the person she was and the life she lived. As everyone is mentioning here, she was very giving and would gladly go out of her way to make people happy.
I know she was an amazing lady, and I’ve heard she made a pretty mean toasted coconut frosting as well… 🙂
Love and condolences to all,
Ben

You all are so lucky to have the closeness you share. We are thankful to be counted among your friends. We pray for peace to come to all of you over losing your precious mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, friend. God bless you all.
I think of all the fun times we had with Aunt Verna. Having coffee, laughing about fun things, her garden. It was such a joy to see her this summer out and about. She really enjoyed all of you and especially her “porch” that reminded her of the place in Arkdale. We are such a lucky family to have such wonderful people in it.
Your mom was truly one of the most open and giving people. We are so blessed that we were able to spend so much time with her. We will walk through life with a bigger heart. We will be here for you every day. Hold each other close and share Aunt Verna’s memeories. May God, family and friends comfort you. We love you!!
