There will be a graveside service at 1:00p.m. Monday, January 27, 2014 at The Burns cemetery located in Bangor, Wisconsin.
A Celebration of Life service will be 5:00 p.m. on Monday, January 27th, 2014 at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Reedsburg, Wisconsin.
Vernon was born July 01, 1929 in Bangor, Wisconsin to Harry and Adelia (Dalison) Bowen. He served in the Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. Vernon was married to Gloria Schmidt and were blessed with three children before Gloria preceded him in 1970. He worked on the farm until he moved to Racine in 1964. He worked Racine Steel Casting for 22 years. Vernon married Lucy M. DuVall on March 16, 1974 in Racine, Wisconsin.
Vernon enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Vernon was a member of the Mauston VFW Post # 2114
Vernon was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Adelia Bowen; sisters: Esther and Elaine; and brothers: Richard, Ronnie, Danny, and Cliff.

Step-son: John Banaszak of Warrens, Wisconsin
Foster-daughter: Roxy Rolland of Arizona
Foster-daughter: Lonnie Bowen of Tomah, Wisconsin
Grandchildren: 17

Brother: Irving Bowen of Sparta, Wisconsin
Brother: Lyle Bowen of Racine, Wisconsin
