Virginia Mae Rank, age 92, of Adams, Wisconsin passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Liberty Manor in Adams, Wisconsin.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 8, 2014 at Roseberry’s Funeral Home in Friendship, Wisconsin. Pastor Kris Fahey will officiate. Interment will be at the Mt. Repose Cemetery, Friendship, Wisconsin. Visitation will be 12:00 Noon until the time of service on Sunday at Roseberry’s Funeral Home.
Virginia was born October 26, 1921 in Black River Falls, Wisconsin to Albert and Meta Heiking.
She graduated from Custer High School in Milwaukee in 1939.
Virginia then married Edward Rank in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They were blessed with two sons, Edward Jr., and Dennis.
In 1950 they moved to Adams. She worked for her father-in-law at Ranks Bar for several years. She and her husband then owned the Dew Drop Inn and later on purchased the Anchor Inn in Adams all the while raising their two sons.
She resided at Liberty Manor for the past five years.
Virginia enjoyed playing bridge, cooking, knitting, crossword puzzles, old western movies, and she especially loved going to the casino.
She was a member of the Moundview Bridge Club, the Eastern Star, the Gold Star Mothers and Trinity Lutheran Church.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Albert & Meta Heiking; husband, Edward Rank; son, Edward Rank Jr.; son, Dennis Rank; Brother, Harold Heiking; Brother-in-law, Robert Stewart; Brother-in-law, Jerry Rank; Brother-in-law, George Rank and Brother-in-law, Patrick Kearns.

My Aunt “Ginny” Virginia was a kind, patient, and loving soul. As a kid visiting her (and Uncle Ed) during several summers in the ’60s/’70s, she was very, very good to my siblings and I. I have very fond memories of that simple time. May she rest in eternal peace.
