Wilbert H. Lund

Wilbert H. Lund, age 87, of Friendship, Wisconsin died Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at the Wm S. Middleton Memorial VA Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 01, 2012 at the Roseberry’s Funeral Home in Friendship, Wisconsin.   Father James P. McNamee will officiate.  Interment will be at the Dellwood Cemetery.  Military honors will be given graveside by the Adams County Honor Guard.

Friends may call at Roseberry’s on Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.

Wilbert was born October 02, 1924 in Chicago, Illinois to Harry and Lydia (Peetz) Lund.  He graduated from Shu High School in Chicago, IL.  Wilbert served in the Army in the Pacific Theater of War during WWII, working in the motor pool for a field hospital.  Following being honorably discharged he returned to Chicago and worked in construction.  Wilbert married Estelle Peters in 1946, this marriage was blessed with one son, Gerald before ending in divorce.  Later he married Alice J. Strach on June 29, 1963 in Holy Innocents Catholic Church in Chicago, IL.

Wilbert and Alice moved to his home in Dellwood in 1965.

Wilbert enjoyed working on and selling cars, fishing, taking care of his home, attending church functions, going out to eat at Carlson’s and visiting with friends and family.

Wilbert was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

Wilbert was preceded in death by parents, Harry and Lydia Lund; wife, Alice J. Lund; and two sisters.
