William C. Oertel Jr.

William “Grandpa Bill” Charles Oertel Jr., age 74, of Friendship, Wisconsin died Friday, June 19, 2020, at his home in Friendship.

Per his last wishes, Grandpa Bill was cremated and no funeral was held.  “His girls” Tonya Millette and Sue Lamb were in attendance for his cremation.

Grandpa Bill was born January 13, 1946, in Racine, Wisconsin to William Charles Oertel and Margaret Louise Storm.  He moved to Friendship in the ’70s with his family and ran his welding shop there until the ’90s. His retirement saw him spending time with his beloved various projects and computers.

Grandpa Bill enjoyed hunting and fishing, welding, and inventing things, he was a wiz with computers and collected many of them along with their various pieces and parts.  He also loved sneaking candy to his numerous “grandkids”.  He would always have treats and welcoming arms for the “furry” grandkids in his life.

Memorials may be directed in William’s memory to his son, William (Tiger) Oertel III who lives in Adams.

William was preceded in death by his parents William I and Margaret Oertel.

Grandpa Bill is survived by his son, William (Tiger) Oertel, his Grandson Michael Oertel, and various other “grandchildren”. He is also survived by his Granddaughter to be, Lucie Oertel (Michael and Jasmine).
