John Lewis Moran
John developed a love of music at a young age which continued all his life. He recorded many songs under the name of Johnny Austin and was a member of many bands over the years. He also enjoyed fishing whenever he could, and was a big Packer and Badgers fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Freeman Rabine, nephew, Randy Rabine and great-granddaughter, Makenzie Brothers.
John is survived by his wife, Carol Grosskrueger, son Troy, Mauston; daughter, Heather (Dwayne) Saunders, Milton; son, Charles Christmas, Rolla, Missouri; stepchildren, Brenda Luke, Reedsburg; Debra Hindes (Andre McLaurin), Madison; James (Vickie) Luke, LaValle; Fred Luke, Reedsburg; Phillip (Cherie) Luke, Reedsburg; sisters, Virginia Rabine, Reedsburg; Judy (Michael) Witt, Reedsburg; 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. He also leaves behind his special friend Shadow.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
I had the opportunity to meet John a couple years back when I went to a Moran Austin family reunion.
He was a fun guy to meet and talk to. He had a great deal of knowledge to share.
I am the grand daughter of Charles York and Nadine nee Rounds York.
My mother was Ellen Valeria nee York Stormoen.
The heavens will now have some great music. RIP John.
