Alex Arista
Alex Matthew Arista, age 38, of Adams, WI passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2022.
A celebration of life will be from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at the Friendship Village Hall.
Alex was born April 28, 1984, in Belvidere, Illinois. He attended school in Westfield and then attended Adams-Friendship High School where he graduated in 2003.
Alex was a hardworking man and loved being a self-employed contractor. He loved John Deere collectibles, woodworking, helping others, cooking on the grill, fishing, hunting, camping, spending time with his niece & nephew, yard lawn services, visiting with people about what he was accomplishing & making, Chicago Bears football, Chicago Bulls Basketball, and driving around on his John Deere lawn mower.
Alex was preceded in death by his father: Margarito Arista; special dad: Ismael Olvera; grandparents: Eugene & Eleanor Gerloff, James Lutz, and other extended family members.
Survivors include his mother: Gena Gerloff; sisters: Andrea (Tim) Hurns & Corinna Branstad; brother: Trebor Branstad; grandma: Lillie Lutz; extended sister: Tammy (Paul) Dodson; nieces & nephews: Justice, James, Kristion, Timmy, Jasmine (Mike) & James (Brittany), and his special friend: Stephanie Koski. He is further survived by many other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
I worked with Alex at MSTC. He was a student in one of my communications classes, and worked hard. He always was polite and friendly. So sorry for your loss. He had great potential and had great plans for running his own businesss. I am so sorry for your loss. Lean on the Lord during this time.
My condolences to you Gena and family, Alex always had smiles that could light the room up. Many people have there memories of Alex. As my family will as well. Alex will forever be in my family’s heart and the memories will overflow. May Alex be at peace now and may he watch over all of you. God bless.

We were so saddened by this news. We just thought he was a great guy. Randy loved working with him. We will miss him. He had a great smile and was so kind. Our deepest sympathy to the family.

This was hard to hear about. Alex was such a nice young man. Always had a smile on his face and so pleasant to talk with. I will miss seeing him around. It just doesn’t seem real😭
So meny good times with Alex…with all his trials and tribulations always being with a smile and I am going to miss him..this time his rest won’t be with something drawn on his forehead…but I did gave to tell him before we got to school…

Peace is what You deserve. The Lord has wonderful intentions for You. We built a ferocious array of equipment for Your business. I always enjoyed the bright greetings when I came over to review your vast collection of toys. My favorite was the trailer that allowed You to work past sundown. Every time I had the privilege to visit at Ace or Your house We always jived and I appreciate You forever.

I am so sorry for your loss. When ever I seen Alex we would stop and talk for a bit. He seemed so happy. It was a sock to hear he died.
