Billy M. Mathis

Billy M. Mathis, age 83, of Redgranite, WI passed on June 28, 2020, at his daughter’s home following a battle with colon cancer.

A Celebration of his life will be July 18, 2020, at 2:00 pm. at Tommy’s Roadhouse Saloon- N2215 Cty. Rd. EE Redgranite 54970. Food & drinks will be served.

Billy was born on October 10, 1936, in Blair Missouri to Clyde & Clara (Cannon) Mathis. He was raised in South East Missouri. He went to school until the 7th grade and then went to work at his father’s logging business. In 1958 he married Mary Morelan, together they had six children. They moved to St Louis where he worked at his father- in- law’s hardware store. In 1960 he started at Altin Box Co. in St. Louis. He moved to Milwaukee in 1972 and continued working at Altin Box Co. which changed its name to Jefferson Smurf. In 1977 he married Patricia Louise Hamilton and gained two stepsons.

Billy retired at age 61 enjoying life and 24 years of camping at Huckleberry Acres in New London, WI.

He loved the Rams & the Cardinals.

Billy is survived by his children, Barbara (Jim) Hurley, AJ (Doug Anderson) Laabs, Howard Mathis, Kathleen Howell & Billy L. Mathis; step-son, Steve (Terry) Isensee; sister, Gladys Bum; brother, Jerry (Nancy) Mathis; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren & great-great-grandchildren; five step-sisters, and lots of friends that he treated as family.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Mary; second wife, Patricia; daughter, Vivian (Joe) Dyson; brother, Jim Mathis; stepson, Greg Isensee;  four stepsisters; two stepbrothers & three half- brothers.
