Charles Donald Dryden

Charles Dryden

Charles Donald Dryden, formerly of Cicero, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly on May 21, 2025, in Marshfield, Wisconsin, at the age of 76, due to complications from pneumonia. His loving son was by his side.

Born on November 11, 1948, in Chicago, Charles was the son of the late Francis and Edith (Tameling) Dryden. He was a devoted husband for over 30 years to his late wife, Dora (Susie) Dryden. Charles was a loving and supportive father to Eric Dryden (Jeanette Dryden), and a cherished grandfather to Devon Vinney and Dallas Cayson, and great-grandfather to Logan Cayson. He was also a stepfather to Ronald Tadla and Tammy Tadla (grandsons Matthew and Kevin Crane).

Charles is survived by his brother, Robert Dryden (Grace), and his sister, Sharon Humphrey (Matthew), as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, James and Paul Dryden.

A proud veteran, Charles served in the United States Army from 1970 to 1972. He built a long career as a diesel mechanic before transitioning to Citgo Petroleum Corporation, where he worked until his retirement in 2015.

Charles was a long-time member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. In his leisure time, he enjoyed attending concerts and festivals, and watching football with his friends.

He lived a life characterized by kindness and generosity, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him. His warm smile and gentle spirit brought joy to many, and he will be deeply missed by his family and friends, who will forever cherish their memories of him.

Per Charles’s wishes, he will be cremated, and a celebration of life will be held in Illinois in the near future.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to:

1921 Lakes Edge Ln, Friendship, WI 53934

May his memory be a blessing.
