Clarence (Red) L. Cook

Clarence (Red) L. Cook, age 78 of Wisconsin Dells passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg after succumbing to a lengthy illness.

Red was born Jan 7, 1937 in Dell Prairie to Raymond & Hesper (Van Wie) Cook. He married Donna Townsend on Nov 2, 1957.

He had a quick wit and wicked sense of humor. Many laughs and giggles were shared when Red decided to tell his stories and share his brilliant banter.

Red enjoyed the outdoors, including farming, fishing, hunting and doting on his many feline friends. He adored his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He spent his pre-retirement years spreading his wit and humor via the Semi-“CB”.

He is survived by his wife Donna, Children: Michael (Melanie), Mark (Shelley), Aaron (Teresa), Lori (Mike) English.

Surviving Siblings: Kent (Roger)-wife Joyce, Sanford (Sandy)- wife Margaret, Rita- husband Darrell Schulz, Karen Berning, Dean Cook.

Grandchildren: Hashiem, Justin, Danielle, Jason, Patricia, John, Kevin, Samantha, Aaron Jr, Ryan and so many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews that we lost count.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, Raymond & Hesper, infant sister, Brothers: Merle (Chubby), Gerald (Blackie), Raymond Jr (Ray), Loving son Scott A. Cook.

He also leaves behind his beloved cats to help Donna through this difficult time.

The family would like to thank Meriter Hospital and Agrace Hospice for all of there loving care. illness.

Memorial Service will be 3:00 p.m. on Monday, August 24, 2015 at the Dell Prairie Town Hall, 763 County Rd K. Friends may call at the Town Hall on Monday from 2 to 6 p.m.

    sorry to here about Mr Cook, always enjoyed talking to him years ago when he worked for Bob Wood and I worked for Jim Elliott at the time The last few years he came and see me every fall , to pick up ears of corn after we combined the corn. He would walk up and down a half or three quarter mile long field all day. If he got tired he just sat on his bucket for a while Always happy with a smile on his face.

    Although I didn’t see Uncle Red as much in my adult life as I wish I would have, I remember as a kid always looking forward to going to the farm and getting picked on by Uncle Red. He reminded me of a big overgrown kid…..and he always made me laugh. He was a very special man and he will be surely missed.
