Hans Menck Jr.

Hans Menck Jr.

Hans Menck Jr. went home to be with the Lord on June 3, 2026. Hans was born March 21, 1942, to Hans and Charlotte (Jacobson) Menck. He graduated from Carl Schurz High School in Illinois in 1960 and moved to Wisconsin in 1966. On October 27, 1969, he married his soulmate and wife, Dorothy Reichhoff. Together, they raised three children: Timothy, Beverly, and David Menck.

Hans worked as a barber in Illinois for five years before moving to Wisconsin, where he was employed at the Badger Army Ammunition Plant for four years. He later spent 16 years working at Metal Fab in Friendship, followed by another 16 years at Big Joe in Wisconsin Dells.

An avid traveler, Hans loved exploring the West, the Northwest, Alaska, and taking many trips to Lake Superior. He cherished travel memories made with his wife and grandkids, Hans and Ashley, as well as special trips to the zoo with his wife, daughter, granddaughter, and great-grandkids. Hans also loved gardening and doing everything outside during the 39 years they lived in the Cottonville area. He and Dorothy were dedicated members of the White Creek Congregational Church.

Hans is survived by his wife, Dorothy Menck; his daughter, Bev (Mike) Pietrzak of Easton; granddaughter, Ashley (Brandin) Meyer of Westfield; and great-grandchildren, Samantha, Mason, and Maliah Meyer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hans and Charlotte Menck; his parents-in-law, Paul and Gladys Reichhoff; his sons, Tim and David Menck; and his grandson, Hans Pietrzak. He was also preceded in death by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Ed and Audry Reichhoff, Duane and Charlotte Reichhoff, Francis “Red” and Betty Reichhoff, and Margaret and Robert Helm, as well as many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Hans, affectionately known as “Bugga,” was deeply loved by his family and friends. He will remain forever in our hearts.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Roseberry’s Funeral Home in Friendship, Wisconsin, with Pastor Sam Downey officiating. Interment will follow at Fordham Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. A luncheon will follow at the Grand Marsh Community Center from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
