Harriette E. Treat

Harriette E. Treat, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on May 13, 2023, at the age of 82.

Harriette was born on April 11, 1941, in Chicago, Illinois, to Frederick and Mae A. Rosenow. Harriette married the love of her life, Robert Treat, on May 2, 1959. Together they raised three children, Jeff, Jennifer, and Mark, and built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Harriette attended St. Philomena in Chicago, where she cultivated her passion for learning. She went on to work as a legal secretary in Adams-Friendship, where she demonstrated her exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. Outside of work, Harriette was a woman of many talents and passions. She ran the cribbage club in Adams for over 30 years, and her love for the game was contagious. She also started a small nonprofit group for spaying and neutering dogs and cats in Adams County, which touched the lives of countless animals and their owners.

Harriette’s love for cooking and collecting cookbooks was well-known, and her collection of 5000 cookbooks was a testament to her love for good food and her desire to share it with others. She also loved country music and going to concerts and local shows, where she danced and sang along with her favorite songs.

Harriette is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Anderson (Bob) of Mauston, Wisconsin; son Mark Treat (Kim) of Prior Lake, Minnesota; daughter-in-law Diana Treat; and grandchildren Krista Krizan (Ryan), Heather Clervi (Michael), Matthew Knupp, Brad Treat (Kristina), Tammy Rodriguez (James), Tyler Treat, and Danielle Treat, along with 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert Treat, her son Jeff Treat (Sandy), and her brother Frederick Rosenow.

Memorial service to celebrate Harriette’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at Roseberry’s Funeral Home in Friendship, Wisconsin. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service on Saturday at Roseberry’s Funeral Home.

Harriette’s family and friends will always remember her kind heart, infectious laugh, and unwavering love for those around her. She will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
