Jean E. Shepard, age 85, of Wisconsin Dells, WI passed away Sunday, June 14th, 2026 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Jean was born August 10, 1940 at St. Mary’s Ringling Memorial Hospital to Walter and Florence (Brecka) Gall. She was baptized at St. John’s Church in Baraboo. Jean lived on the Gall dairy farm in Baraboo, WI. She grew up on the farm delivering milk via horse and wagon. She began working by babysitting at the Bonnie View Resort. She attended grade school at Parkview near Devils Lake and Baraboo Senior High school. In 1994, she graduated from Lacrosse Technical College with an Office Assistant certificate. Jean moved to Wisconsin Dells in 1957. She worked at Red Wagon and Mr. Pancake (Chuck & Dianne Thompson and Bill Hutchinson), SunBeam Corporation (making outdoor furniture) and Ho Chunk Casino (snack bar and the weiney wagon). She loved to entertain people and was well known for her fudge, apple pies and wedding cakes. Jean loved to dance, listen to country music, her green thumb for flowers and plants, feeding birds and interacting with people. She was always willing to share her journey through life and the lessons she learned. Jean would share her experience and knowledge with her friends and family making life easier to navigate some of life’s toughest journeys. She had a big heart and was always willing to help others when needed.

Jean is survived by a son Gary (Cheryl), daughter Linda (Bob) and a foster son Ralph (Linda), 10 Grandchildren and 14 Great grandchildren and many, many friends (you know who you are.) She was
preceded in death by a son Michael, foster son Lon Fuller and by her late ex-husband William (Bill) Shepard, parents Walter & Florence Gall, Brothers Donald and Buddy, sister Elaine (Stu) Crawford.

We extend our gratitude to Dr. Hannah and the staff at Medical Associates and St. Clare’s Hospital, SSM home and hospice for their wonderful care given. Dr. Ron and Melanie Burkhalter for many years of chiropractic care. Pastor Matt Gehrke, Trinity Lutheran Church, Wisconsin Dells and Chaplin Mike Amberg for all the home visits and prayers.

There will be no funeral or celebration of life per Jean’s wishes.
