  12. Sandra Rae Mousseau says:

The world will be forever changed now that my dear friend is gone from this earth. Joan and I worked together for many years on Siesta Key in Sarasota Florida. No one could keep up with her as we worked ten or more hours a day with no breaks and served a wonderful clientel with whom we became family and friends, sharing lifes joys and sorrows. There were twelve stylists who most, like Joan came to work the winter season …in those years business was booming…she was at the top, gaining respect and a following the envy of all. We made lots of money, and she freely shared with anyone in her company. Joan became my immediate friend, and her brother and friends also became mine. That was in the early eighties…and for all the seasons after that, until she stopped coming, our friendship was a gift to us both. She made each of the men I dearly loved, all sailors, her friends as well.. Only in the recent years did I finally get to visit her hometown, see the fire tower, the local haunts, and the famous Charm Center, go to the dells, get cheese at the cheese dairy where she sent me a gift from every Christmas….enough cheese for a year!! We even went to a casino in a cornfield where she won a jackpot as we went out the door….My greatest memory is in the mid nineties she drove to my place in the late afternoon to bring my late husband and I a complete roast goose dinner….the most delicious and moving experience….so much so that I tried to duplicate it once and called her on the phone to walk me through. So too many memories to share, some too crazy to…what will I do without this really amazing woman?
I can only say how blessed you, I, and all who knew her were to have her in our lives. She’ll be visiting me on holidays in my memories. She is part of the fabric of my life. I know she’ll be with you all too. Sharing your great sadness, Sandra

  13. Charlene Jensen says:

I neglected to mention that Joanie wore braids & Bess was working on them.

  14. Charlene Jensen says:

I remember walking to Friendship Grade School with Elaine Lyon & stopping to pick up Joanie.
I can still see the blue smoke as she told her mother in no uncertain terms to not pull so %*&*^%* hard!
I believe Rudy & I double dated with Virgil & Joanie once. In our late years we live on memories & there are some good ones.
    God bless her memory.

  15. Rog and Ellen Chambers says:
