John Edward Premo

John Premo

John Edward Premo, 67, of Adams, passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2026, in Stevens Point.

John was born April 23, 1959, the son of Harold and Beverly (Colby) Premo. He grew up in Adams County, living in the Adams, Friendship and Cottonville areas, and graduated from Adams-Friendship High School. He later made his home in De Pere for a number of years, and spent a couple of years in Kaneohe, Hawaii, near his son and grandchildren. John spent much of his working life on the road as a truck driver, hauling nationwide in the heart of his career, before retiring.

John was a devoted Packers and Brewers fan. His idea of a perfect Sunday was a cookout in the afternoon with the family around and the Packers on. Deer season was his other favorite time of year. He hunted alongside his dad growing up, and later passed that tradition on to his son. He was also a genuine pool shark. More than anything, he loved his family.

John is survived by his children, Josh (Amanda) Premo of Kaneohe, Hawaii, and Gabrielle (Zachary) Powell of Natchitoches, Louisiana; his grandchildren, Jorden, Tara and Owen Premo of Kaneohe, and Sawyer Powell of Natchitoches; and his sister, Sue Premo of De Pere.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Beverly Premo.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

  3. Rev. Jeffrey Cila says:

Sue, Josh, and Gabrielle the news of John’s passing just reached me in SC. It hurt my heart because he was one of the good guys. I grew up with him starting in Pineland Elementary, one of those people you don’t forget and am always glad to see and catch up with. Our 50th year class reunion will be bitter sweet without being able to catch up one more time. May God grant him peace, rest, and reveal to him all the treasures of heaven. Know too, that for you the comfort of the Holy Spirit is ever near to keep the good memories close. For John and you I pray God’s blessing stay in your paths; in Jesus’ name (Yeshua). Amen

1Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.
