John L. Sebeny

John L. Sebeny, age 82, of King, formerly of Adams, Wisconsin passed away peacefully Friday, June 14, 2019, at the Thedacare Medical Center in Waupaca, Wisconsin.

Memorial services will be 5:00 p.m. with military honors to follow on Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at Roseberry’s Funeral Home in Friendship, Wisconsin.   Rev. John K. Stake will officiate.  Interment will be at the Quincy Cemetery at a later date.  Visitation will be 4:00 pm. until the time of service on Tuesday at Roseberry’s Funeral Home.

John was born July 22, 1936, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Lawrence and Florence Sebeny. He graduated from North Division High School in Milwaukee in 1954.  He married Kathryn Cripps in December of 1960, in Waukegan, Illinois.  John served in the United States Air force for over 20 years before retiring in 1977 and in 1978 they moved to Adams County. They owned and operated Spot-in-the-Woods for several years and then he worked at Brakebush until his retirement.  John enjoyed traveling with Kathryn and was an avid collector of novelty items.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn Sebeny; son, Kenneth Olson; parents, Lawrence & Florence Sebeny; sister, Linda Hilfiker; granddaughter, Constance Olson and great-grandson, Matthew Olson.

 

Survivors include his:

Son:  Dennis (Jeanette) Olson of Adams, Wisconsin

Son:  Jeffrey (Carmen) Sebeny of Saukville, Wisconsin

Son:  Michael (Kathy) Sebeny of Lakeland, Florida

14 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren

Brother-in-law:  Louis Hilfiker of Milwaukee, Wisconsin
