Karen A. Gersy, age 69, of Friendship, Wisconsin passed away Sunday, March 03, 2024 at her home.

Per her instructions, cremation will take place with final interment at the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, King, Wisconsin.

Karen was born March 24, 1954 in Mauston, Wisconsin to Stanley and Virginia F. (Loescher) Petersen. She grew up in Mauston and graduated from Mauston High School. Following school, she moved to Paddock Lake, WI and began her career with Kay Homes in Antioch, IL where she worked for 30 years. Karen married John Gersy on March 2, 2000 in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The couple made their home in Salem, Wisconsin where Karen worked for the DNR as a wildlife specialist at Bong Recreation Park. The couple retired to Friendship, Wisconsin in 2017 where they could be closer to Karen’s family.

Karen loved crafts of all kinds and the outdoors.

Karen was preceded in death by her mother, Virginia; step-father, Arnold; father, Stanley; and two brothers: Jeff and Jim Petersen.
