Karen Romell

Karen Lea Romell was the only child of the late Edna (Johnson) and George Romell, born in March of 1949. Karen had been Baptized and Confirmed at Trinity Lutheran of Arkdale. Karen attended the Roche-a-Cri Elementary School and graduated from Adams-Friendship HS, class of 1967 and attended the University of Stevens Point. Over the years Karen had worked in a number of places including the University of Kentucky. She had also traveled and lived in various locations, but years ago returned home to Strongs Prairie Township, living in the family home.

Karen had many interests and causes that were dear to her heart, such as The Friendship Connection, a recovery center for adults offering a safe and supportive place. She kept up to date on politics and supported her party. She was a ferocious reader, and a member of Good Reads Book Club out of the Adams Library. Two of Karen’s joys was going to Bible study and to worship services at Arkdale Trinity Church. In Pastor’s absence Karen would gladly lead the Bible study for her. And she will be remembered especially for her ministry of connecting with people. Daily Karen would call people, and she would pray for them. Karen sent cards for birthdays and anniversaries, and myriads of get-well cards. All this was an outpouring of her faith. Karen was called home to her heavenly Father, May 17, 2023. A Celebration of Life will be Sunday, June 11 th , at 11:30 and Arkdale Trinity Lutheran Church with refreshments to follow. Interment at East Arkdale Cemetery. May her memory be blessed.
