Lois E. Whitehead

Lois E. Whitehead, age 72, of Baraboo, Wisconsin, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Maplewood of Sauk Prairie in Sauk City, Wisconsin.

A celebration of life will be held on September 19, 2026, at the home of Josh and Ruth.

Lois was born on February 25, 1954, in Beloit, Wisconsin, to Wayne and Evelyn (Slinde) Creasey. She grew up in Brodhead and later made her home there until moving to Baraboo in 2010.

On June 26, 1971, she married the love of her life, David. Together they built a life centered on family, which remained her greatest pride and joy.

Lois attended Blackhawk Technical College in Janesville, where she earned an associate degree in computer science in the early 1990s. Her most important role, however, was raising her five children. After moving to the Baraboo area, she worked in the gift shop at Ho-Chunk Casino, a job she truly enjoyed until its closure. She later worked at the Wilderness Call Center in Baraboo until her retirement in 2024.
In 2018, Lois moved in with her son Josh and his family, where she remained until entering Maplewood Nursing Home on April 10, 2026.
Lois loved her Diet Pepsi with extra ice and was known for playfully teasing her grandsons, Bryson and Colton, often asking them for more ice with a smile. She also enjoyed coloring on her phone and sharing her creations to the family chat.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David, on May 29, 1992; her parents, Wayne and Evelyn Creasey; her father- and mother-in-law, Clifford and Bernice Whitehead; and a dear friend, Keith Kirby.

Lois is survived by her children: Gabby and Cindy; Josh and Ruth; JJ and Miranda; Zachary and Heather; and Tyler and Brittany. She is also survived by her sister, Karen (Melvin) Rouse; sister-in-law, Judy Hennager; brother-in-law, Dan (Nina) Whitehead; and her beloved grandchildren, Aaron (Lori) McKinney; Colton and Bryson Whitehead; CJ, Tabitha, and Rhean Whitehead; Roman, Evan, and Emmett Whitehead; and Olan and Henrik Whitehead; along with six great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her niece, Kim (Joe) Maney; nephews Tim Moe and Melvin Jr. “Skeeter” Rouse; and many nieces and nephews on David’s side.

A small woman with a big heart. Family was important. She cherished family and funny little moments

  2. Lisa Reinke says:

Sorry for your loss. Lois was small but a mighty force.
I always remember David and her stopping by the Ruger Ave house anytime they were in town doing errands. Along with many get togethers at Bernie and Cliffs house. We would always catch up at the casino gift shop. She always had a smile.
