Madge Faye McGregor

 

Madge Faye McGregor, age 97, of Adams, Wisconsin died February 8, 2012 at the Moundview Memorial Hospital & Clinics in Friendship, Wisconsin.

Funeral services will be 12:00 noon on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at the Trinity Congregational Church in Adams, Wisconsin. Rev. Richard Corning will officiate. Interment will be at the Mt. Repose Cemetery, Friendship, Wisconsin.

Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday at Trinity Congregational Church and again on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the Church.

Madge was born October 31, 1914 in Baraboo, Wisconsin to John and Theresa Elkington. She moved to Adams, Wisconsin at age 8. She graduated from Adams-Friendship High School in 1932.

Madge married Robert Scott McGregor on July 29, 1934 in Waukegan, Illinois. They were married 72 years, until his death in November of 2004.

She was a member of Trinity Congregational Church since 1925. Madge served as Deacon & taught Sunday school there.

She was a member of the Adams Eastern Star. She worked as a Jury Commissioner for Adams County and volunteered at numerous blood banks.

Madge & Bob enjoyed extensive traveling throughout their years together. Following Bob’s retirement they wintered in the South, for 18 years at various locations.

She was a very gifted artist (crafter) who had very many hobbies.

Madge was preceded in death by her husband, Robert McGregor; parents, Theresa & Jack Elkington; sister, Alice Reinhold; brother, Ralph Elkington & brother, Thomas Elkington

Godson: Gary (Jackie) Stevens of Berlin, Wisconsin
Very Dear Friend: Lois (Edwin) Williams of Adams, Wisconsin
Very Dear Niece: Greta Stevens of Markesan, Wisconsin
Sister-in-law: Dolores Ā Elkington of Lake Suzie, Florida

    We are very sorry to hear about Madge – she enjoyed quite a life and we do not believe their will be another individule like her. You will always remember her ways – just think of how many Christmas trees that will not be decorated in her home. She knew how to have fun; and that is what she did!!
