Manuel Cerda

Manuel Cerda, age 92, of Friendship, Wisconsin peacefully passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at the Assembly of God Church in Adams, Wisconsin. Pastor Mark Stevens will officiate. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday, April 27th at Assembly of God Church.

Manuel was born December 26, 1931 in Palestine, Mexico to Abelino and Cliofas (Montoya) Cerda. He grew up in Mexico and in 1950, he moved to Wisconsin. He settled in Kenosha, Wisconsin and began his career with American Motors, Bucyrus Erie Co, Kenosha Auto Transport. Manuel married Pamela R. Meyer on July 21, 1979 in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Manuel retired from Chrysler as a Teamster Union Member in 1987. In 1997 Manuel and Pamela moved to Friendship, Wisconsin.

Manuel enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on cars, and especially going on missionary work trips to Mexico where he would restore old churches and build new ones.

Manuel was a member of Adams Assembly of God.

Memorials may be directed in Manuel’s memory to his family to help continue their missionary work.

Manuel was preceded in death by his parents: Abelino and Cliofas Cerda; two sisters; and former wife, Esther Garcia Cerda.

Survivors include his wife, Pamela Cerda of Friendship, WI; children: Lisa (Jon) Cerda, Debbie (John) Gibbs, Manuel Cerda Jr., Barbara Cerda, and James (Samantha) Meyer; grandchildren: Amanda (Matt), Alexandria, Austin, Elle, James, Olivia, Callie, and Lila; great-grandchild, Wolfgang Manuel and brother, Frank (Maria) Cerda of Kenosha, WI; In-laws: Darlene (Don) Cook, Shirley Markuson, William Meyer, Wendy (Jack) Cody, Susan (Ken) Cronce, Timothy Meyer, Kathleen (Sam) Mercado, Deborah (Dave) Garcia, and Lisa (Ted) Boyer. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Manuel loving, kind, wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend to all.

    Manny and my husband Marty used to enjoy playing a game of pool together, while Pam and I attended our Caregivers meeting down the hall, twice a month at the ADRC. Manny was such a sweet man, with a smile that could light up a room. He will be missed. Pam, I understand your pain, as I lost my dear Marty less than two months ago. My heart goes out to you.
