Michael Prather

Michael Lee Prather passed away on Friday, December 11, 2020, at the age of 72. Mike was born on July 19, 1948 in Belvidere, IL to Evelyn (Susie) and Garland Elwood (Woody) Prather. He served in the VietNam war in the Armed Forces. After that Mike worked as a construction worker and a foreman for Michael Nichlas Inc. out of Chicago, IL for 33 years. Mike married Wendy Woodcock on March 18, 1974, in New Orleans, Louisiana. They resided on a hobby farm in Belvidere, IL raising their one daughter, Emily. Mike had a passion for building, remodeling, and making things strong and beautiful. He enjoyed raising rabbits and horseback riding with his daughter. In 2000, Mike and Wendy bought a small place near Cottonville Lake in Friendship, WI and they have enjoyed visiting and eventually living in the area since then. As a grandpa, Mike loved watching his grandsons play sports, participate in 4-H, and grow up to be fine young men. Mike is survived by his wife, Wendy Prather, his daughter, Emily Tissen, his grandsons, Andy Grimes, Jayme Rubeck, his son-in-law, George Tissen, his brother, Marty Prather, and his sister, Mary DeVore.
