MSGT Earl “Mac” C McCarty, 74 years old and Diana L McCarty (Waters), 68 years old of Lindenhurst, IL passed away in a tragic car accident on Monday, August 22.

Earl was born on 2/20/48 in El Paso, TX to Lee and Eunice (Akers) McCarty. Diana was born on 1/9/54 in Waukegan, IL to John and Estelle (Hibbard) Waters. Earl and Diana were married 9/9/78 in Ocean side, CA. Earl served our country in the US Marine Corps for 21 years. Diana served as a loving military wife and mother alongside her husband Earl. Earl and Diana loved life as much as they loved each other. Earl would say “Diana you are the reason I breath”. Diana would say “whatever you say honey”. They loved to golf, dance, laugh and joke with everyone. You never knew what comment would be said, but you were guaranteed to laugh until you cried. They both loved their dogs, just as much as their children. They have 4 children Matthew (Linda) Ball, Edna “Marie” Evans, Kelly (Vern) Ball and Doris (Mike Egan) Echevarria. Five grandchildren Geoffrey, Nicholas, Brianna, Aaron, Clayton along with 3 ½ great grandchildren.

They are survived by their children and great grandchildren, Earl’s sisters, Rebecca Carnley, Elizabeth (Roger) Coman and Peggy Spencer along with his sister-in-law Marietta McCarty. Diana’s mom Estelle “Sue” Waters, sisters Sandy Wadington, Donna (Louis Morales) Lewandowski, Linda Kosman, Rita (Bob) Caryl, Barb (Bob) Porteous and brothers Joe Waters, Bob (Brenda) Waters, Jim (Bev Storino) Waters. Along with several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and many more on both sides.

Proceed in death is Earl’s parents Lee and Eunice, his brother Jessie and brother-in-law Curtis. Diana’s father John and brother-in-law’s Bob Wadington and Ron Kosman.

There will be a Celebration of Life held at the VFW Post 4308 in Lake Villa, IL from 1-5 on September 11, 2022. As Mac and Diane would say “let’s celebrate our next adventure”.

    They lived life. We saw it in everything they accomplished. They lived out loud. I am blessed for having known these two larger than life souls. May they choose to rest in peace, continue the adventurous party, or both. I am positive they know they were loved and I cared for the both of them.     I met them very briefly: they could definitely brighten with their infectious smiles and people loving attitude any room they entered and any group they joined. They definitely loved and valued life!
