Ronald Waite
Ronald J. Waite Sr., age 84, of Adams, Wisconsin passed away Friday, November 11, 2022, at his home.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at Roseberry’s Funeral Home in Friendship, Wisconsin. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
Ronald was born October 21, 1938, in Portage, Wisconsin to William and Viola (Jarrett) Waite. He was raised and lived in Adams County where he was married to Velna (Dye) Waite since 1956 and where he owned and operated Ron’s Body Shop for many years.
Ron enjoyed being outdoors, trout fishing, ice fishing, and pan fishing for northerns. He enjoyed growing beautiful plants in his greenhouse and growing pumpkins in his garden for his grandkids. As a beekeeper, he made great tasting honey. Ron was also known for his 25 years of late model racing. During his lifetime, he became a three-time track champion on the A-F Speedway Track.
Ron was preceded in death by his son: Randall Waite, daughter: Debra Waite, grandsons: Jeremy Walker & Jacob Zimmerman, and granddaughter: Patricia “Patty” Waite.
Survivors include his wife: Velna Waite; children: Ronald J. Waite Jr. “R.J” (Janet (Kilps) Waite), Sonya Jean Johnson-Waite & Krystal Lyn Roenneburg (Rick); 16 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren; siblings: Christine (Art) Sebastiani, Marlea “Lee” (Darrell) McCollam & David (Linda) Waite, and daughter-in-law: Diane (Ravenscroft) Waite.

To Velna RJ and family. Ron will be dearly missed. I was the recipient more than once of honey wax. He knew I’d gratefully use every bit. Ron loved to share his knowledge whether it be of bees, fishing, or gardening. Hold your memories close. God bless.

You will always be in my heart. I have so many wonderful memories you have left me with: Getting to ride in your race car every time you’d win, going on fishing trips to Canada how to tire a hook on a fishing pole, planting gardens of vegatables and flowers, showing me how to track wildlife, explaining how to tell the difference between a queen, a drone and a worker honey bee, helping you process honey (getting to eat as much as I could). All the many memories you made with Jake, teaching him all you knew about hunting and fishing. Even giving him his first Shirley Temple at Dew Drop Inn.

My heart breaks not have beeen able to say good-bye. You always knew how great my love was for you and I know how much you loved me.

So sorry for your families and friends loss of Ron. I have so many memories of Ron Sr and the whole family. Buying plants from the greenhouse, going to watch him race his stock cars, taking my kids to visit their farm animals when we lived down the alleyway, seeing them having breakfast at the restaurant and so many more memories. You will definitely be missed Ronald Waite Sr.

Velma and family… I’m so sorry for your loss. I have so many great Friday night memories of Ron at Friendship race track watching the races with Debbie. He was her Dad, he was my favorite driver #98 Ron Waite. Every time he would get fast time Debbie and I would get to ride in his car and hold the American flag during the National Anthem. Such awesome memories, such a wonderful man. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Rest easy Ron.

He and Velna where just here not too long and he had me pick out the ripest watermelon out of the 3 in the back of his pickup truck… he said to me smiling with a twinkle in his eye, why, I learned how to pick the ripe watermelon by knocking on it…and we all laughed!!
