Timothy A. O’Neil

Timothy A. O’Neil, of Big Flats, Wisconsin, passed away on Friday, May 26, 2023, at the Tomah VA Medical Center. He was 65 years old.

Memorial services with military honors will be held to honor Timothy’s life at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at Roseberry’s Funeral Home in Friendship, Wisconsin. Pastor Milt Duntley will officiate. Visitation will take place from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service on Saturday at Roseberry’s Funeral Home.

Timothy was born on May 28, 1957, in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, to Donald and Joyce (Verstegan) O’Neil. He attended Menomonee Falls East High School, where he graduated in 1975. Timothy joined the U.S. Army in 1976, dedicating two honorable years to his service before his honorable discharge in 1978. On May 30, 2002, he married Mary L. Skwierawski in Colorado.
Throughout his life, Timothy worked diligently as a truck driver, transporting building materials and furniture, and skillfully maneuvering boom trucks. He found employment with Fleming Trucking, embarking on a journey that spanned various states and professions. Not only did he dedicate himself to a full work week, but he also selflessly assisted Mary with her cleaning business. In 2005, Timothy and Mary relocated from Wauwatosa to Adams County, creating a new chapter in their lives.

Timothy had a love for his Harley Davidson, finding solace and joy on the open road. His heart also overflowed with adoration for horses and all animals, reflecting his lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian in his youth. He was a practical joker and always enjoyed making people smile. Engaging in horseshoe games and effortlessly making friends were activities that brought him great pleasure. However, above all, he loved his family and grandchildren passionately.

Timothy is preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Joyce (nee Verstegen) O’Neil, as well as his father-in-law, Richard Skwierawski, and mother-in-law, Janet Huberty.

Survivors include his wife, Mary O’Neil; his sons, Nic (Michelle) O’Neil and Ryan O’Neil; his treasured grandchildren, Aiden, Ava, and Addison; his siblings, Toni (nee Davis) (Richard) Jaskowiak and Scott (Karen) Davis; his nephew, Steven (Kimberly) Ulrich; his nieces, Ashley (nee Davis) (Seth) Larson and Allison (nee Davis) (Benjamin) Prather; his great-nieces, Afelia Ulrich and Madeline Prather; his cousins, Dale (Chris) Verstegen, Dawn (nee Verstegen) (Dan) Lyons, and Dayna (Joni) Verstegen; and his sisters-in-law, Patricia (Al) Duncan, Sandy (Tadd) Pribnow, and Ann Preisgen.
